Opening of The Estonian Honorary Consulate in Podgorica

On Decemeber, 6, 2021 the Honorary Consulate of Estonia was opened in Podgorica, in the building of the Čelebić Group.

The consulate was officially opened by the President of the Estonian Parliament Jurii Ratas, the Vice President of the Montenegrin Parliament Branka Bosnjak, Ambassador of Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Budapest Kristi Karelsohn and the owner of the Celebic Group Tomislav Celebic, who will be the Honorary Consul of Estonia in Montenegro.

Mr Ratash said at the opening ceremony that honorary consuls are important members of Estonian diplomacy.

He reminded that Estonia was the first country to establish diplomatic relations with Montenegro, after the restoration of its independence in 2006.

“This year we are celebrating 15 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations,” Ratash said.

He said that the opening of the consulate opens the possibility for expanding cooperation and the arrival of investors from Estonia.

Mrs Bosnjak said that the Parliament of Montenegro is very interested in cooperation with Estonia, especially in the field of economy and education.

“We appreciate that Estonia is the first country to establish diplomatic relations with Montenegro and the first to ratify the Stabilization and Association Agreement between Montenegro and the EU,” said Mrs Bosnjak.

Celebic said that he was honored to represent Estonia, which has a developed economy, low public debt and low unemployment, highly developed technology …

“All this is proof that this country was managed and is managed by people with great knowledge and vision,” said Celebic.
